This study aims to identify the most important factors affecting the future of universities and explain the relationship between them in the country. To this end, the most important future drivers of higher education were first identified; Then, using the interaction analysis method, the matrix of key factors was designed as a questionnaire and after distribution among experts, to determine the impact of factors on each other and their position, the data collected through software Mikomak was analyzed. Findings indicate that the factors are "the extent of government and parallel institutions interference", "management style in higher education", "accountability, responding and listening to the voices and needs of stakeholders", "crisis and futures research with the participation of higher education stakeholders", "The economic paradigm and system", "diversification of sustainable financial resources", "international interactions" and "the interrelationship of higher education with industry and the labor market" have a very high impact on other drivers. Also, factors such as "policy-making style in technology" and "macro-level management style and public policies" were considered as influential variables that affect the highly dependent factors, and along with other influential variables, higher education lead to "quality orientation", "taking into account the diverse needs of the regions of the country and the priorities of sustainable balanced development" as well as "investing in science and creating the ability to produce them"; Therefore, it can be said that moving towards reducing government interventions and multiple parallel institutions and strengthening and applying efficient management methods and considering the need for crisis and futures research with the participation of higher education stakeholders to achieve a better future. , Combined with responsibility, responding and listening to the voices and needs of stakeholders, can be considered one of the most important steps in moving towards a desirable future of higher education and a promising bright future for it.
